Chemotherapy is an integral part of many cancer treatment plans for pets with cancer. While the oncologist develops the treatment plan, the veterinary technician commonly handles the administration, client communication and daily management of chemotherapy appointments. This webinar will provide a brief overview of common chemotherapy agents available for administration in the general practice setting and dive heavily into safety practices necessary for the handling of chemotherapeutic agents.

Lindsey is a 2004 (AS) and 2005 (BS) graduate of the Purdue veterinary technology program. After graduation, she started working as a veterinary technician in the Purdue Comparative Oncology Program (PCOP), where she has continued to work for the last 18 years. As a veterinary technician with PCOP, she has worked on the clinic floor along with being the lead technician for multiple clinical trials. Lindsey recently earned her VTS in oncology in 2022. The favorite part of her job is providing support for clients and their pets during a difficult time. She also enjoys working with the difficult canine patients that are just misunderstood.
