Kidney Function and the Gut Microbiome

This interactive course focuses on the benefits of complete and balanced nutritional support for cats and dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Course Information

This interactive course focuses on the benefits of complete and balanced nutritional support for cats and dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD).  Throughout the five modules of this course, you will learn about CKD, its progression, and how the microbiome can support kidney function.

The modules are short (12 minutes) and can be completed at your own pace. Your progress will be saved so you can pick up where you left off if you need to exit the course prior to completion. All five modules must be viewed prior to attempting the quiz.

You will need a general understanding of veterinary medicine. An in depth veterinary background is not necessary. Give yourself ample time to complete the course, ideally in a quiet, distraction-free setting. Each of the modules in this course will take about 12 minutes to complete.

This course will give you an understanding of how kidney function and the gut microbiome work together to support kidney function in cats and dogs. You’ll also develop a greater understanding of the special nutritional needs of cats and dogs living with chronic kidney disease and how proper nutrition can be used as a key element of kidney therapy.

At the conclusion of these five modules, there will be a quiz worth 1.0 hour of RACE continuing education credit (where available) following successful (70% or better score) completion of the quiz.

This course is comprised of five modules.
